Este tweet de la usuaria @pinabertoglia (epidemióloga) se masificó rápidamente y provocó un debate en las redes sociales, que tomó relevancia debido a que muchas municipalidades están implementando la desinfección semanal de calles.
OMS advirtió en mayo, a través de un documento de desinfección y limpieza de superficies, que rociar o fumigar calles con desinfectante no sirve para eliminar el coronavirus, y que además, pone en peligro la salud de los transeúntes.
La razón de esto, es que la suciedad eliminaría de inmediato el efecto del desinfectante, por lo que la acción no surte efecto. En tanto, dentro de los riesgos que representa para las personas, está la irritación de ojos y piel, broncoespasmos y efectos gastrointestinales.
