La caída interanual de 20% de la ocupación, equivale a cerca de 1,8 millones de puestos de trabajo perdidos en doce meses, según señaló el Ministro de Economía, Lucas Palacios -ad portas de la Cuenta Pública Presidencial 2020- luego de darse a conocer el Informe de Desempleo del trimestre móvil abril-junio 2020.
Fue así como el presidente Sebastián Piñera, horas más tarde, presentaba al país los datos extraídos del último informe de desempleo dados a conocer este viernes 31 de julio y los cuales fueron informados por la actual Directora del Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas, Sandra Quijada.
Según el último boletín entregado por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas (INE) correspondiente al trimestre abril-junio de 2020, la estimación de la tasa de desocupación nacional fue 12,2%, lo que equivale a 997 mil desempleados. Se trata de la cifra más alta en toda la serie desde 2010, y está 4,9 puntos porcentuales (pp.) por encima de igual período del año anterior y uno por delante del trimestre marzo-mayo 2020.
El presidente dice 1 millón 800 mil empleos perdidos aproximadamente y es así. El dato exacto que aporta el INE es 1.780.220.
Respecto de los datos de “suspensión de jornada” el discurso se basa en el reporte de la superintendencia de pensiones, según el cual se acogieron a la Ley 21.227 y presentaron la “suspensión de contrato”, 699.762 personas (425.947 hombres, 272.911 mujeres y 904 sin información).
Aclaración
Inicialmente nuestro equipo calificó la declaración como IMPRECISA, porque tomamos en consideración el reporte del INE dice que los “ocupados ausentes” equivalen a 801.800 personas en doce meses, y explica: “Los trabajadores acogidos a la Ley de Protección al Empleo se encuentran en esta categoría”. Sin embargo, ante la imposibilidad de confirmar si dicho dato incluye únicamente personas en suspensión de jornada y dado el peso del informe de la superintendencia, recalificamos como VERDADERO.
DIFERENCIAS
Fuera de las instituciones estatales hay datos más pesimistas en esta materia. De acuerdo a la encuesta presentada el 9 de julio por el Centro de Encuestas y Estudios Longitudinales de la Universidad Católica, la tasa de empleo llegó a un 43% en junio, lo que implicó un retroceso de 1,5 puntos porcentuales en comparación con lo ocurrido al mes de mayo 2020.
El Economista UC y Director Centro Encuestas y Estudios, David Bravo, dijo a los medios en dicha oportunidad que hubo una pérdida aproximada de 2,1 millones de empleos en un año y una caída de 14.4 en la tasa de empleo.
