¿Hoy existe un proyecto de ley que aborda la temática?
Sí. En octubre de 2023 se presentó –desde el Ministerio de Hacienda y Ministerio de Justicia y de Derechos Humanos– el proyecto de ley que “modifica diversos cuerpos legales, en materia de fortalecimiento del Ministerio Público» (boletín 16374-07). Según su último informe (publicado el 6 de octubre de 2025), la iniciativa propone aumentar en 205 los cargos de fiscal adjunto a nivel nacional, elevando el total a 1.000. Actualmente, el proyecto se encuentra en segundo trámite constitucional en la Cámara de Diputadas y Diputados.
En suma, la afirmación de Evelyn Matthei es verdadera: hoy sí existen alrededor de 750 fiscales (783 específicamente) y efectivamente hay un proyecto de ley en curso que aborda el incremento de dotación de los mismos.
